PAK VS SA 2ND TEST

On the second day of the second Test between South Africa and Pakistan at Newlands, Cape Town, South Africa continued their dominant batting performance. Resuming at 316 for 4, they reached 429 for 5 by lunch. The highlight of the day was Ryan Rickelton's unbeaten 213, marking his highest first-class score and making him the first South African batter in eight years to score a Test double hundred.

Rickelton, who was promoted to the opening position due to Tony de Zorzi's injury, showcased exceptional skill and concentration. He built a significant partnership with Kyle Verreynne, who contributed a brisk 74 not out from 88 balls. Their sixth-wicket stand added 106 runs in 23.2 overs, further solidifying South Africa's position.

Pakistan's bowlers struggled to make breakthroughs on a pitch favorable for batting. Mohammad Abbas was the most successful, claiming 2 wickets for 70 runs. The visitors faced additional challenges as opener Saim Ayub was sidelined due to an ankle fracture sustained while fielding on the first day, limiting their batting options.

South Africa, having already secured a spot in the World Test Championship final at Lord's in June, are aiming for a 2-0 series victory after their narrow win in the first Test in Pretoria. Their commanding position in this match puts them on track to achieve that goal.
